The Okinawa Startup Ecosystem operates the “KOZAROCKS PITCH AWARD“, a content of the “KOZAROCKS 2024” event organized by the KOZAROCKS Executive Committee.
Today 5/23, we have started accepting applications for pitch speakers for this event.
The best overseas startups will receive support matching for entering the Japanese market, and the best domestic startups will receive support matching for entering the overseas market, etc.
Regarding the Application Deadline
Domestic Startups: Wednesday, June 12th, 23:59(shortened) closed
International Startups: Saturday, June 15th, 23:59(shortened)
Please note that the original deadline for both categories was set for Monday, June 17th. However, the deadline has been shortened. We appreciate your understanding.

Features of KOZAROCKS PITCH AWARD
Pitches dedicated to domestic and international startups aiming to expand globally
Startups from overseas that are looking to expand into Japan, or from Japan that are looking to expand overseas, are welcome to speak regardless of their field.
Attracted Taiwanese VCs, support organizations, and commentators with expertise in overseas expansion
We invite people who can provide specialized support for global expansion after the pitch as judges.

About Entry for Speakers

If we receive a large number of entries, selection will be made according to the following screening criteria.
Entry Requirements
- Must be within 5 years of incorporation. (pre-incorporation is also acceptable)
- The company must plan to expand into the Japanese market within the next few years.
- Must be ready for PoC verification (have a prototype of the product or service)
- Must be able to give presentations in English.
Selection Schedule
①Apply via the application form: Deadline: 6/15 (Sat.) 23:59
②Notification of selection results: By 6/20 (Thu.) 12:00
③Submission of pitch materials: Due by 18:00 on 7/1 (Mon.)
Judging items
- How much business expansion can be expected by expanding overseas or into Japan?
- Whether the company has a concrete plan for overseas expansion or entry into the Japanese market (whether there are milestones)
- Can the company clearly explain how overseas expansion or entry into the Japanese market will advance the PoC verification of the current product or service?
- Is there a clear roadmap after the PoC verification? Domestic startups aiming to expand overseas: up to 5 groups Overseas startups aiming to expand into Japan: up to 5
What is KOZAROCKS 2024?
The theme of KOZAROCKS 2024 is “Bankoku Shinryo – Okinawa as a bridge between Asia and Japan.
Startups and investors from not only Japan but also from overseas will gather.
The Kingdom of Ryukyu once prospered through trade, connecting Japan and Asia by ship.
The spirit of Okinawa as a bridge between the world and Japan is proudly engraved on the Bankoku Shinryo bell hanging in the main hall of Shurijo Castle. Okinawa, which still carries on this spirit, is full of potential to play an important role in connecting countries, people to people, and understanding different regions and cultures even today.
KOZAROCKS 2024 aims to be an event that will reaffirm the significance of Okinawa as a bridge between Asia and Japan and provide an opportunity to build new connections.
